About

Hi, my name is Aleksandar Jakovljević and I am a web developer from Belgrade, Serbia. I was born in Smederevo, and went to school there. I am husband of Katarina, and father of a gorgeous baby girl.

I got my Computer Science degree at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Electrical Engineering. I started focusing on web development since late 2003. During that period, I was mostly focused on open source web technologies. I specialised in PHP, focusing on Symfony framework, with skills in Drupal and WordPress, too.

I work for Plenigo via Holycode since August 2021. Before that, I worked for Computer Rock (former Spoiled Milk) for more than 10 years, and for art_net studio for more than 7 years.

I love the web and everything related to it. The possibility to publish your ideas quickly and make them available to the entire world is what made me decide to pursue a career in web development.

I strongly believe in freedom – freedom of choice, freedom of speech, and the idea that an honest relationship cannot exist without mutual respect for the freedom of the other. I also believe in the freedom of software and the idea of open source as the foundation of the modern software industry.

Besides computers, I like sports, good food and happy people. My favourite team is Partizan, and band I like the most is Iron Maiden. You might see me at basketball games, running by the river, or at some rock/punk/metal concert or festival.
