When building a WordPress website, everybody has a set of plugins they are using almost every time. This is my list.
Your posts, pages and custom post types will sometimes need additional fields. Why would you want to write field definitions in PHP when there is this shiny plugin which does exactly that? It is extensible, meaning that you can create your own fields or use fields that other people created.
1.1 ACF Repeater
There are several paid plugins for Advanced Custom Fields provided by the plugin creator Eliot Condon, of which Repeater field is the most convenient one. It enables you to create repeatable sets of custom fields (provided by Advanced Custom Fields plugin and it’s extensions), allowing numerous combinations.
Lightweight and intuitive plugin which gives you user interface for creating custom post types – a quite handy feature for any website.
If your hosting doesn’t provide you with daily backups, this is a must-have plugin. It allows you to make backup of database files, installed plugins list, create WordPress XML export, and check database tables, archive it and then store it to local or FTP folder, send to e-mail or on some cloud services (S3, Azure, Rackspace, SugarSync). Everything you need in one plugin. Really good work.
Quite often you need to display posts in custom, fixed order. This plugin does exactly that.
This is highly configurable and easy to use plugin which makes your website faster by caching pages. There are several ways of caching that this plugin provides. It also allows CDN integration.
Note: Doesn’t get along well with APC

Capchas are not visualy attractive, but are essential if you have any forms that are visible to public
Allows you to easily customize the appearance of your WYSIWYG editor.
